TILDE

We are specialists in teaching Spanish to executives, professionals, university students, and, in general, anyone over the age of 20 who wishes to learn intensively and efficiently with professional teachers in a serious, but friendly and relaxed environment.

Situated in one of the most elegant and distinctive areas of Madrid, our school sits close to the famous Fountain of Cybele and on the very edge of the world renowned Art Triangle, comprising the Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofía Art Museums, as well as being a mere stone’s throw from the busy centre of the city with its many bars, restaurants and theatres.

Our courses are designed for students who wish to progress quickly within a limited time frame which demands a high level of preparation from our teachers, ensuring clear learning objectives with varied exercises and support materials to enable the formation of the fundamental skills and concepts to grasp the language.

Our classes never exceed 6 students, which enables our teachers to pay particular attention to each student’s needs and demands, giving the necessary support and encouragement to enable the student’s creativity free reign.
Classes are based on a combination of:

· Grammar – providing fundamental concepts of the language.
· Conversation – on current concerns and themes.
· ‘Abanico’ Cultural Activities – these are cultural activities outside of the classroom which take the student into the very heart of Spanish life.
For those students who wish to make the most of their stay with Tilde, the school offers the following optional activities:

– Coffee & Current Affairs. This is an activity for warming up the morning that is open to all students who wish to take part and find out some of the major news items of the day. Our objective is to strike up conversation and discussion while enjoying a coffee before the classes begin. From 9 o’clock, Tuesday to Friday.
– Self Study. For those students who choose the BASE or REVISION I & II, the school offers, for a reasonable fee, the possibility of three extra classes per week for individualized study and practice. With the help of a tutor, the student will be able to reinforce those aspects of the language that need extra work through comprehension excercises, such as text reading or listening execises.
– Lunch With Teachers in small groups of 4 students. A perfect excuse to continue conversing in Spanish over ‘tapas’ or trying a typical ‘menu of the day’.

All of the courses given at TILDE include:
· A level test.
· Free course book & folder.
· Participation in the afternoon ‘Abanico’ cultural activities.
· “Coffee & Current Affairs” discussions about current affairs during the first hour from Tuesday to Friday.
· A study certificate at the end of the course.
· 2 teachers per group (one for grammar classes, one for conversation classes).
· Free access and use of books, audio-visual materials and computer terminals.

Ideal Escuela de Español

For more than 34 years we have been dedicated to teaching Spanish as a second language and the Mexican and Latin-American culture. Ideal´s method is directed towards the development of your ability to communicate in Spanish, especially within the Spanish-spoken world. From the very first day you will be able to immerse yourself in the language as well as the culture. In this way, you will become familiar with how we live, our beliefs, our history, our politics, our fiestas (and why we celebrate them) and much more regarding Mexican culture and social life.

Your program at Ideal begins with semi-personalized Spanish classes of no more than 5 students. But it doesn’t end there! We also offer various extracurricular activities. These activities are optional, but they are designed to complement the cultural program and are highly recommended. These include charlas (informal talks) and conferences, round table discussions, songs and movies in Spanish, cooking classes, dance classes, coffee socials, excursions to cultural and historical sites and much more.

Ideal students are generally placed with different host families living in Cuernavaca whom, as a part of the Ideal program, include their student guests in everyday Mexican activities. As a student, you are not just a client, but rather a member of the family. With your availability and preferences in mind, you are always invited to go shopping, attend family celebrations, receive suggestions on what to do in Cuernavaca or simply wander around town.

We also receive groups of students, for which we provide tailored language and cultural programs, depending on individual needs and preferences. Simply contact an Ideal representative to discuss your particular needs. It will be our pleasure to further discuss a plan that will fulfill your requirements.

Ideal School for Spanish is incorporated by SEP, the Mexican Secretary of Public Education (Secretaría de Educación Pública – Clave 17-PBT-01451). Furthermore Ideal is an Associate Founder of AIPEC, the Association of Institutes for Teaching Spanish in Cuernavaca, of which, Hermilo Brito, the Director of Ideal was President (2005-2007). Also, Ideal is an Associate Founder of Mexico Si, the Mexican Association of Spanish Language Institutes.

Since December 2006, Ideal has been an Associate Center of Instituto Cervantes of Spain (www.cervantes.es).

Aprovéchate y matricúlate ahora, no esperes.

LEARN SPANISH

We offer Spanish Courses designed to enable students to immerse in the local culture and to confidently involve themselves in any Spanish-speaking society.

The classes start every Monday throughout the year. They generally take place every morning in average groups of three with a limit of seven students. Courses are taught by native Spanish-speaking teachers highly experienced at all of the following levels, into which students are initially tested.

Classes make use of topics oriented to intercultural learning and promoting tolerance and respect for diversity. Our classes are also used to share the distinct aspects of social life in our country.

We offer several options to satisfy the needs of each student.

1) Crash Immersion Course
In the first weeks, students are frequently more focused on adapting and settling down in their new environment. Therefore, this 10-hour-a-week program is the course we recommend for recently arrived students. Moreover, this course is mainly focused on conversation which is key to build up the student’s confidence in her/his ability to communicate with local people. Once students have adapted to their new environment they can decide to change to a program that covers more hours.

2) Intensive Course
These courses are designed for those who wish to learn in a more intensive classroom setting, combined with social and cultural activities that allow them to practice their skills. The 20-hour-a-week program covers all aspects of learning a language (speaking, reading, listening and writing) with a special emphasis in development of each student’s communication abilities. The goal is to teach each student to communicate effectively in real-life situations.

3) Immersion Course
The immersion course consists of lessons that aim at developing the language skills of speaking, writing, reading and listening and the use of language in real contexts of use, taking into account aspects such as social appropriateness. The Immersion course combines 20 hours of group lessons plus 5 hours of private lessons per week where students reinforce the class content.

4) Super-Intensive Course
This course is more intensive as students learn the language and accomplish a higher level of proficiency within a shorter period of time. These classes combine the experience of group lessons (20 hours per week) with individual lessons (10 hours per week). The group lessons will review general content together with your classmates. In the individual classes students reinforce the group class content and work on their weakest areas through conversations related to themes of their choosing.

Cultural Immersion
As part of your Spanish course and in order to achieve a better understanding of the language and culture in Argentina, we include twice a week visits to historic sites within the city such as museums, parks, etc. These trips are planned with each student’s current level of Spanish in mind and range from outings to local clothing stores, supermarkets and restaurants to museums and cultural centers.

Tango and Spanish
With whichever course you choose, you have the option to take two tango classes a week for free, which are given by experienced tango instructors. Tango classes open the door to the world of dance for which Argentina is known and allow you to meet new people and enjoy your stay here in Córdoba even more.

Volunteer and Internship OpportunitiesnIf you are coming to Argentina to learn Spanish but want to get involved in more activities and enrich your experience while at the same time helping those who need it most or fulfilling academic requirements, you have the option to work on a volunteer or internship project through AFOS.
